When one tugs at a single thing in nature, you find it attached to the rest of the world.

- John Muir, Conservationist

Each year our staff make use of special deer masks to disguise themselves when raising orphaned deer or moose.

This method has worked well in keeping these little guys from becoming used to humans and enabling them to stay wild. MRWC is fortunate to have a staff member who is talented at costume making. Aside from her skill with wildlife conflict, Gwen makes our deer masks, gift shop items, and costumes. This year she is redesigning and reconstructing the old masks after several years of use, getting them ready for orphan season in the spring, where we can see dozens of deer fawns admitted.
