When one tugs at a single thing in nature, you find it attached to the rest of the world.

- John Muir, Conservationist

We regularly receive a few pigeons each year, but the cold last December brought more than usual. 20 injured, freezing, and orphaned pigeons have come to us in the past couple of months.

Pigeons are often considered a pest, called names like “winged rats", and are treated less than kindly. We receive pigeons from people who find them injured and simply want someone to help without judging them.

Did you know?

"Pigeon" is a nickname - they are actually Rock Doves.
Pigeons are monogamous, taking only one mate for life.
Pigeons are capable of memorizing up to 1800 pictures and responding correctly to them after several months.
