The Bohemian Waxwing looks like an oil painting come to life, with it's sleek feathers and subtle waxy wing-tips where it gets it's name.

This particular Waxwing came in due to impact injuries and is sitting looking very puffy, which is an extremely bad sign!

Great Horned Owl

The Great Horned Owl is the provincial bird of Alberta and most widespread Owl in all of N. America. Commonly mistaken to be endangered, it's population is of Least Concern of Conservationists.

This particular Owl has a severe concussion, the un-evenly dilated pupils are a tell-tale sign of this kind of injury.

The smallest  Hawks in North America, the Sharp-shinned Hawk are widespread and come to Alberta to breed!  

This particular Sharp-shinned Hawk came to the centre after suffering major fractures to the wing.
